Engage – Connect – Become Involved
Expand your professional experience through volunteering and mentorship!
There are many opportunities to volunteer and to be a mentor or mentee through CMA Ontario. By becoming engaged, you will have the opportunity not only to make a difference, but to demonstrate the diversity of the CMA designation, build your skills and strengthen your network.
Volunteering Opportunities:
CMAs have a proud history of volunteerism in communities and organizations across Ontario. They add value through the depth and breadth of their accounting, management and strategic expertise. Many of you have experience outside traditional accounting roles which will provide greater insight and perspective to help grow and develop not-for-profit organizations. Charitable organizations often seek professionals for volunteer positions such as Board Member, Committee Member, Treasurer, Event Coordinator, Financial Consultant, and more. Opportunities for CMAs to volunteer their time, energy and expertise both for Certified Management Accountants of Ontario and for external organizations are available for searching on our CMA Ontario Volunteering/Mentoring Website.
Mentor and Mentee Opportunities:
Mentor and mentee relationships between CMA Ontario members offer a rewarding and fulfilling experience for both sides of the match. The benefits of building a professional mentor/mentee relationship are:
- The ability to share and learn from each other’s experience and expertise
- Increase your technical knowledge and skills
- Expand your professional network
- Have a trusted confidant that understands your challenges
CMA mentors and mentees are provided the opportunity to search and engage in a professional and rewarding relationship by connecting with each other through the CMA Ontario Volunteering/Mentoring Website.
