The Professional Development Institute’s Continuing Education department offers a number of workshops specific to the interests of Consulting CMAs, including workshops that are approved by the Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMC-Canada).
Offerings include workshops that are mandatory for new Consulting CMAs and are designed to assist and prepare them in starting their practice. These mandatory workshops include practical information about many aspects of developing and maintaining a practice. They also provide an overview of CMA Ontario Rules and Regulations, helping prepare Consulting CMAs for practice inspections and explaining their professional obligations as a Consulting CMA.
Other Consulting CMA workshops are offered to keep Consulting CMAs up-to-date with current trends and relevant topics. Workshop topics include: Personal and Corporate Taxation, Ethics, and Compilation Engagement, which is a mandatory workshop for all Consulting CMAs planning to prepare financial statements.
Essentials of Management Consulting workshops are also offered in partnership with CMC and will be of particular interest for those who are interested in pursing the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation.
Continuing Education’s Financial Accounting workshops will appeal to CFOs, Financial Analysts and Senior Managers involved in financial accounting. Workshops include: Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise, Manager Transfer Pricing and Pricing Power.
The full-day, interactive ‘Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise’ workshop works through the new standards and helps participants to assess the implications for their organization and ensure that it is in compliance with GAAP.
The Pricing Power workshop outlines pricing concepts and tools that support improvements to an organization’s bottomline as well as introducing several bestin class pricing management practices.
The Managing Transfer Pricing Workshop focuses on the complexities of documenting inter-company transfer pricing transactions and also investigates strategies to optimize an organization’s global tax position.
